1. Cloud and edge computing are different, non-interchangeable technologies that cannot replace one another. It is preferred over cloud computing in remote locations, where there is limited or no connectivity to a centralized location
2. Software is advanced to the point where ML and AI etc can really automate the administration of the systems and make these lines between cloud, data centres and edge amorphous.
3. Mobile Edge Computing facilitates resource-scarce mobile devices to enhance their capabilities and execute data applications while collaborating with resource-rich network servers to enable ubiquitous computing.
4. Managing the deployments of applications or devices across is one of the biggest challenges in edge computing. Whereas, you can collect and process data in the most efficient way, and be resilient to issues like internet connectivity etc.
